Thanks, but I need to distill my question a bit further.
I found those settings before I posted, but it is not clear to me what needs to be checked to trigger an email notification to a response posted in a thread where I have participated.
Obviously, what I currently have checked does not work since I don’t receive notifications of responses.
Thanks again, and sorry for my density,
Beverly Howard
Oh by the way if you go to the bottom of a topic there is a tab (below topic controls)(tracking etc)that allows you to be notified of every post on that topic if you wish
“Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic”
The only question is if I will be notified if someone adds to a thread I have posted to without directly replying to a specific post that I made.
I am active in over a hundred other forums and this is the only one I have encountered where there is not a specific option to get all responses to threads where one has posted.
I mean every post on that topic!( not entireforum)
This allows you to follow every post on a topic you have not created.
However, if you have created the topic, then checking the below quote will inform you as stated:
" Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic"
So in answer to your question, you should receive notifications on every post by ticking the above in preferences (If you created the topic)
Otherwise use the tracking control I mentioned earlier to be notified of every post on that topic (if you did not create the topic)
