Rendering Problem Sketchup to Layout

I have created a model in sketchup and inserted it into layout. Only a portion of my scene is showing through the frame in layout. Can anyone help? Here is an image showing what is happening. The left is the sketchup model in sketchup and the right is how it is rendering in layout.

Hi Chelsea. The style in the LayOut viewport may not match the style in the scene you set up in SketchUp. I suggest by selecting the viewport in LayOut. In the SketchUp Model window, activate the Style dropdown. If the RESET button is an option at the top, that means that the style in LO is different than the SU style. You can either select reset to match your SU model or select one of the available styles in the list. I suggest starting with In Model Styles if you go that route.

Also under the SketchUp Model window, activate the Tags dropdown and ensure that all of the tags you want visible are turned on. Seems odd that only a portion of the door frame is visible.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Please post the LO file, other wise we will just be guessing!

Is your model far from the origin?

Did you adjust any settings within the SKP panel, or did you double click into the SketchUp view in LayOut to make and settings? Double check this and hit reset:

Did you use section cuts to setup your view? Or just position the camera?

I’ve reset styles and made sure the tags were all correct and still having the same problem.

No section cuts. Here is the layout file.
Here is a link to the file:

It looks fine in LO, this is what it looks like when I export it:

You have faces on top of one another which is causing the issue:

If you wish to draw in 2d you should consider making things groups / components and then moving them off the plane of each other. And it would help with the issue of geometry sticking to everything else.

Consider doing the basics course:

Ohhh I think I understand. Thanks!

Removing the excess geometry did the trick!
