Showing more lines in Layout vs. Skp

Hi,

I am experiencing a few issues with Layout. It honestly feels like I’m using it for the first time because nothing seems to be working properly. The model is very simple (just a U-shaped kitchen), so I’m not sure why it’s behaving so strangely.

One of the issues is that all the SketchUp viewports in Layout display a small triangle with an exclamation mark, and I have to manually re-render each viewport for it to show the correct SketchUp scene. Previously, whenever I inserted a new scene into Layout, it would automatically display the corresponding scene from the SketchUp model.

Another issue is that the cabinet with the oven shows extra lines in Layout that are not visible in SketchUp. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it.

Also, the model in Layout looks like it is using Ambient Occlusion, even though the SketchUp file is saved using the Default Style.

Do you have any idea what could be causing these issues or how I can fix them?

Thank you!

Post the file, otherwise we are guessing. If it’s too large for a reply use a file sharing service with a public link.

Here is skp file but for layout here is the link (not sure whay is 26MB): Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

VISŽ.kuhinja.skp (6.6 MB)

You have it set to Vector in the file you send me… so I don’t see the same oven. If I change it to Raster it looks like yours.

If you export it it, it looks like this:

I don’t know why / where the small lines that cross the cabinet are coming from. They seem to disappear with raster, but show up in Hybrid and Vector.

I haven’t checked the model but usually they are a result of using Vector or Hybrid rendering with a model that is large in extents or far from the origin. LayOut is even more picky in this sense than SketchUp.

I checked that. Didn’t seem to change anything when I moved it to the origin and updated the camera view.

Also, if the SketchUp view is based on clipping and not a section plane, things behind the camera are prone to show in Vector views in LyOut.

I use Section plane.

Have you tried adding a new viewport? I’m curious if the warning triangle appears right away or if it shows the correct view immediately.

Another thing I noticed is that when I try to draw the door swing, it doesn’t snap to the corner of the cabinet.

You need to check the box for auto render.

thanks
