Recover skp file not found or invalid

Hello everyone,

I was working on a file this last week and it crashed at some point, and now I am having issues trying to open the file again. It says file not found or invalid.

Could someone please help me to recover this file?

There doesn’t appear to be anything to recover in that file. Maybe the .skb file is in better shape. You could share that.

Where have you been saving the file as you’ve been working on it?

Presumably since you are using SketchUp 2017 Make this is a hobby thing? Have you saved other versions of the file?

Thanks for your quick reply.

I´ve saved the file on a desktop folder, and usually a SKB file will appear on each file, but this time I did not get an SKB. Only the Autusave SKP file, which is the one I have shared.

There are not any other versions saved I am afraid.

Is there anthing I can do to recover the file?

That should be a red flag that something didn’t happen correctly during the save.

It looks pretty grim. I think your best bet is going to be to start over and this time ensure that saves are done correctly.
