I have 13 SketchUp files sent to 13 separate LO files.
The SketchUp files have similar styles, scenes, and the same tag names across all.
In file #1, one of the Viewports has been styled by me to have some dash (colour and weight) overrides to certain tags.
What I want to do is copy and paste these overrides from this original viewport into my other 12 LO files, and apply the overrides to those viewports (which reference different SKP models).
I’m copy & pasting the Viewport into the new LO file, then I’m using the eyedropper tool to select the “Style” from the first and apply it to the second
..but nothing happens.
The lines in the new viewport/model remain as default - and the list of Tags in the tool tray gets shorter (!?)
Shouldn’t I be able to just Eye drop and Paint the style to a new viewport?
I checked that the tag names are identical between the two SKP files, and I checked that no incompatible styles (eg Color By Material) were active..
The Styles had different names (eg Default Style12) so I saved a custom Style and applied it to both SKP files, so they’re now the same.
I’m using Hybrid but other modes don’t make a difference.
If I understand you correctly, I’m not sure using the eyedropper to sample a tag override from one viewport to another one is a good idea. I think the eyedropper samples more than just the tag override, and I don’t fully understand the implications.
What you could try is make the tag override on one viewport and then copy that viewport to your new LO file. Then relink the model to the other model. Since the viewport is copied after the tag override is done, it should apply to the new SU file.
I did try your method but the Viewports have all been set up with annotations etc and the Location is very different, so it means a lot more work than me jsut manually applying the tag overrides..
Ideally I would have had this Viewport in my LO template to start with, but in this project the 2d linework comes from a different consultant.
Eyedropping should pick up the Style as well as the tag overrides…im fine with this. I wondered if a Style name mismatch between SKP Files would mean that the eyedropper tool gets confused.
After further testing, it actually seems to be bugged…I was playing around adjusting the size of a viewport, re-rendering it, and then it suddenly the tag overrides worked.. But I’m having trouble repeating that result reliably.
