I’m trying to project this image as a texture, but when do, it turns out like
. I’ve followed the instructions on the help center page and other community posts. How can this be fixed?Don’t project it. Projecting a texture will distort it when it is projected onto a curved surface. Think about what would happen if you use a real projector to project an image onto a curved surface. As you get farther from the center, the image is hitting the surface at an angle and becomes distorted.
Can you share the .skp file?
coffee maker.skp (1.9 MB)
That’s not a great image to use for your coffee maker but, one problem you have with using it as a projected texture is you haven’t aligned it with the surface you’re projecting to.
The flat face should be aligned vertically since the side of the cylinder is vertical.
As I described before, projecting the image onto a cylinder will distort it. (Further than it’s already distorted.)
Applying it without projection is better. At least it doesn’t distort the image more than it is.
By the way, it would be a good idea to learn about using groups and components in your model.
