Hello,
I need to wrap an image around a cylinder. But no matter how many different ways I have tried, the image keeps being distorted.
I made sure that the image is the same width as the cylinder’s circumference, and I also matched the height to the cylinder’s extrusion.
I checked the Areas as well, the projected image is 0,01m2 larger than the cylinder - possibly a rounding difference?
I have also aligned the image “properly” to the cylinder.
Below image shows the distortion:
Any help will be much appreciated, as always of course!
Try to use "decal " , and see the result.

Where is this “decal” in SketchUp?
Thanks, the technique with applying the texture to the different segments did work.
Thanks, that’s a good idea. I’m using D5, but I think if I import the texture in there it should give me the same options.
Might even be a better way, as I have a couple of these labels with different graphics that all need to be rendered in the same perspective.
Potential time saver!

Yes, but this is tagged as SketchUp. You could at least add part of your reply to mention a plugin.

Just a note on your projected image. Projecting the texture image is not appropriate for what you are doing. The distortion you show should be expected when projecting a texture onto a cylinder.
