Have you tried the trim to solid tool?
To be fair I dont have much experience with it. It didn’t work for me.
I noticed you have a symmetrical object so I divided it in 4 parts and make them a component. I cut the object you wanted to trim from the one you made with PB and pasted in place, I used the native trim tool, cut the object exploded the group and pasted in place again. With booltools you don’t have to do that, just trim any of the components and all will be trimmed as well, the native tool makes a unique component if you don´t follow the steps I showed you.
Mate you are a master. I will be trying that soon. Yes, it crossed my mind to work with a component and then replicate it, it’s much faster and cleaner.
Quick question - by native trim tool you mean the solid tools offered by SU?
Also what did you use to split up the shape into 4?
Yes, the native solid tools aren’t as good as Booltools imo.
I just used a plugin called zorro2, then deleted 3/4 of it, the 1/4 I made it a component and using the native mirror tool I copied it on the x and y axis.
