I’ve noticed a bug with the latest Mac version of Sketchup Pro relating to the trim tool in the solid tools. Don’t know if anyone else has reported it and it is not a big one but an inconvenience.
When you select two solids to trim, normally you can select your initial trimming object (1) and then the select your target object (2), and then you may continue to select new target objects (2) without needing to reselect your initial trimming object again. You don’t seem to be able to do this multiple operation anymore despite the cursor showing a number 2 after the initial trim operation.
I just checked and this same issue also occurs in SU2023. Whether it is something related to the new macOS, a problem with M3 silicon, or it was there all the time I don’t know.
It’s a know issue and has not been fixed yet. In the meantime look at Eneroth Solid Tools or Bool Tools 2. They both work better and they respect components.
Strange, when I searched the forum initially I could not find related postings but now they are all coming up.
I had Bool Tools a while ago when I was doing 3d printing but when I changed computers I lost the licensing details. It was great but I don’t want to have to buy it again.
So it’s a bug that has persisted for a couple of years then… I’m doing my best to suppress my disappointment with the number of things that were working perfectly in earlier SU versions that are now broken
I bought a new computer and lost Bool tools. I emailed them and was given my original licence details and reinstalled the extension at no extra cost. It might work for you too - nothing to lose by getting in touch.
