Problem opening the file

Hi, I’m having trouble opening a file. Is there any way to recover the entire project? When I try to open the file, I get the message “Failed to open the document.” The project was also attempted to be opened in MicroStation, but nothing was displayed.

hi.

please share the file. we’re like doctors, we need a patient to examine.

This file is too big to share here

use this. it’s free, up to 2gb, 2 weeks.

Looks like your file is missing a bit of critical data. It might be the @colin can get something from it but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’d go ahead and restart the model file.

Where were you saving the file while you were working on it? Were you also saving a copy of the model to your Trimble Connect storage?

Some of the end of the file is missing. I can’t tell how much is not there.

Do you have the .SKB backup file in the same folder as the .SKP?

yes i do

Can you share the .skb file?

Try again. That link isn’t complete.

Again, where were you saving the file while you were working on it? Were you also saving to Trimble Connect?

i cant insert here links here now. Add a prefix before the prevous link “https”
i was saving this file to a flash drive. i m not saving to trimble connect

Why not?

i have a error

Weird.

In any case your .skb file has the same issue.

Is there a reason you won’t answer my questions?

which questions?

Really?

I missed it in the mess of posts.

That’s a typical cause of corrupted files. Instead of you should be saving to an internal drive. If you need a copy on a flash drive you should copy the file to the flash drive after saving it to the internal drive.

Why not? You should be doing so to create an additional backup. Presumably you have an EDU license for SketchUp so you get free storage on Trimble Connect.
