Photorealistic Style

I tried Photorealistic for the first time, awesome looked fab. I went to my next scene and tried it again and clicked on the box saying don’t ask me again if I want to to do this since I clearly wanted it to go to rendering mode.
Now it does not work at all. I tried repair, and then uninstalled and reinstalled SketchUp and I still can’t get the same quality as the first scene I tried.

Is this the message window you saw?

If so and if you ticked the box for “Please don’t show this again”, read the next sentence.

You should not disable this warning unless you’re going to actually manage style changes yourself. Theat means updating the style before creating or updating a scene.

Go into Preferences>General and click on Reset all Warning Messages.

Going forward, when this message pops up choose one of the first two opetions. If you already have a suitable style in the In Model styles, cancel the scene creation and select that style. Avoid just using Save as a new style every time. Doing so can result in multiple identical styles which can cause file bloat.

I believe it’s the one you get the very first time you hit photoreal materials style

@naomik
dismissing this warning won’t prevent you from using it. It’s just that until you do, sketchup will automatically apply an environment to your model to get a glitch of this new feature.

Now you’ve dismissed it, you’ll have to go manually choose an environment in the new environment pannel

Thank you I will give that a try

This is the warning that came up and now it is up again and Photrealistic style is working again.

Thank you so much!

As Paul said, ticking the Don’t show this again bix for that shouldn’t prevent you from using PBR materials.

Well that is what I did and it simply stopped working. I figured clicking on that would just stop the warning not disable the feature.

Thank you Paul I forgot about the Environment panel I have been too busy to play with this after watching a tutorial. That will teach me not to do my homework :slight_smile:

It only stopped the warning for me when I clicked on it after I first installed SU2025.

Just saying, that this does not look like a warning to me. Instead, I would call it a confirmation query (and wonder that if someone both clicked Cancel and checked the “Don’t show again” box, if the feature becomes difficult to use thereafter?)
