Outliner Workflow

It would be beneficial to be able to perform basic operations such as deleting or creating groups without having to click back into the main window.

You can do that in Outliner already. You can select groups and create nested groups and you can select groups and delete them in Outliner.

Thank you for the response. However I am not. For example, when I try to create a new group (ctrl+G) I receive the can’t do that chime. This is 2022 BTW.

Thank you,

Michael Rawley

What are you selecting when you get that message?

I’m also using 2022 BTW

Alright. I don’t use groups and so I had to make a keyboard shortcut to create them. Making a group from the Context menu when selecting in Outliner works fine. Oddly, using the keyboard shortcut doesn’t.

Actually I can confirm this bug in 2022.
If the focus in the outliner, pressing the “g” does not create the components, but I get the chime sound, meaning an error. Context menu (right click) method works.
However if I put the focus to drawing window (middle click) the shortcut method works:

(keypress in the left bottom corner in the animation)
nocomp_g

Edit: Checked in SU2021, and there is no problem with the shortcut in outliner.

Just geometry groups to create another group

Thank you,

Michael Rawley

Or a group to delete.

At this point you can do it from the Context menu.

Looking back I think this has been reported as a bug so hopefully we’ll see a fix soon.

Thank you for your time and confirming the issue.

Shortcuts and Outliner no longer play well.
