Out of the Box

A simple thumbjug, dredged from a memory of one my Grandmother used for milk in her tea.

Re: horese bridge.

Here is a nice UK example

Yes, I know that bridge, I’ve been there.
You’ll find it here.

Hello Box! Every animation you do is absolutly AMAZING!!! Did you draw this scene by scene? How long did it take you to edit? :star_struck:
I am new to sketchup and I am trying to do some animations. Your tips from April 21 helped me a lot, thanks!

There are various animations in the thread, made in different ways.
Some are simple screen recordings using software that records whatever you do.
Some are scene by scene animations that you create within sketchup and export as files.
Others are actual animations built within sketchup using an animation extension.

You should spend some time learning the software itself before getting too involved in animations.
Start with the Campus.

Thank you so much Box!!! I’ve discovered some lessons on sketchup web, now I can know more basic skills than searching tutorials on YouTube for every tool!

I keep seeing this design pop up as something special, so thought I should look at how to make it.

I know stained glass work is very technical and requires a lot of ‘on-the-fly’ modification. As such does the SU model really help beyond the initial concept and basic dimensioning?

There was no sketchup involvement in this, in fact no computers were used in the creation of this piece. Everything is done by hand.

Not sure what you mean by this, you create a design and you follow it, if you are needing ‘on the fly modifications’ then you need a different job.

I always find it interesting that the whole way through you know what the design is but it somehow all comes together when you fit the last piece.

that’s the best part. planning it is nice, but it’s not real. having the actual thing in hand is a superb feeling.
That’s what I loved when I painted miniatures as a teen, then architecture models, and now paper art.

making physical stuff is great !

So true.

I’m guessing you are all pretty bored with this by now, but here is the top panel first time up to the light.
