Out of the Box

That’s a fair-sized 3D printer you have got, … or a small mango?

My home printer has a 110mm x,y,z capacity, it’s a pretty big mango, cost me a whole dollar. The bowl is an ikea bamboo, the print itself is 100mm tall.

I thought I had posted this model somewhere, but I can’t find it.
It is a square spiral and true bend, incase anyone is wondering.
Scroll back through the thread for various options.

A little bit of festive fun with Fredo’s twist and taper and Chris Fullmer’s Shape Bender.

The cold reality of discarded baubles. Left out to fend for themselves after the festivities are over.

Is that pure Clothworks snow?

No. No clothworks at all. I just did a bunch of random edges sticking up at different heights. Sandbox from contour made a very spiky terrain then used max SUbD to smooth it. Turned out quite nice I thought.

I was in the car when asked but now on my boat so able to do a gif.
To create the edges I just did a radial array, pulled up from the middle with vertex tools soft select, then random select from tig to move about 50% of them. Then I made a second bunch move copy, grouped and used true bend to bend it 360, then a bit more random select and vertex tools to shove them around a bit. The rest is in the gif, but only one subd not the full monty, Too slow to record for a gif.

And the teardrop baubles without ‘Icecream’.

I don’t always like the style of your works (I prefer more modern, contemporary style ), but technically they are awsome. I also like your consistency.

A quick print.

A little something that dawned on me when trying to punch a hole through an organic shape.
A quick face to orientate the tool and away you go.

Box… I am just seeing this. What is the tool (F.) you are using? Also, what is the tool with the X inside of the circle? This is very cool. Thank you for sharing.

The little one with the F on it is Fredo’s Visuhole.
And the red circle with the x is just delete which can be found on the ‘Standard’ Toolbar. Or hit delete on your keyboard.

A bit of fun inspired by another thread.
I might have a go at using this for a rendered animation later.
Just for fun

Do you have tute’s on using sub D?

I would start here and work your way through. On the first page Thomthom gives you more links to lots of info.
