I am trying to open holes in a diagonal wall can’t?

I see the problem. The inside and outside faces of the angled wall are not parallel to each other. Ideally you would fix the mode and make the outside face align with the inside. You could do that in several ways. Alternatively you could push the rectangle from the inside well out beyond the outside face. Then select all of the geometry and use Intersect Faces>With Selection followed by deleting everything that isn’t wall.
Easy fix:
Draw a line on the top of the wall that is parallel to the inside edge. Place a guideline paraallel to the inside if you want and trace it with the Line tool. Then Push the waste side down to the bottom.
Once it’s fixed, Push/Pull works fine.
