Opening print dialog destroys model perspective

Hello!
I’m new to Sketchup and I’m using the free web version on an M1 Macbook Pro.

If I open and cancel the print dialog the perspective of the entire model is totally messed up.

Here’s how to re-create the bug:

  • Create a new document
  • Draw a rectangle
  • Pull it up to a box like shape

The part of the box shape that is further away appears to be narrower than the part that is closer. It looks natural, just like in the real world.

  • Open the print dialog.
  • Cancel the print dialog.

Now the perspective is the other way around. The part further away is wider than the closest part. It looks really weird.

The only way to fix it that I’ve come up with is to revert to a previously saved version.

Any ideas what’s going on? Is there any other way to fix it?

best regards Johan

The difference you are seeing is between the perspective and parallel projection setting.

If you go to the scene button and click on camera dropdown, you can switch between the two.

Hmm, ok. Can I switch back to “perspective” from “parallel”?

Yep, and I’m not sure why the print is default parallel projection, but if you select “Scenes” in the print mode, it should print your perspective view.

Thanks a lot! You saved my day!
