Open Sketchup to default template (skip "Files" screen)

How do I setup SketchUp to open directly on the default template and bypass the choice of selecting a template or opening recent files? I’ve chosen a default template already and don’t want to have to pick it. Thank you.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Please complete and correct your forum profile.

Sorry, newly installed SketchUp 2020 Pro (currently a network license) on Windows 10 64-bit. I managed to do this with the network rollout of 2018 but I can’t find the right setting in 2020.

Go to Window>Preferences>General and untick the box for Show Welcome Screen.

I want to push two settings to all of our users, no welcome screen and custom default template, but even though the registry settings are correct it’s still showing the dialog and defaulting to the wrong template.

I’ve experimented with changing the settings in SketchUp and it doesn’t change these registry settings. Changing the reg settings themselves doesn’t change anything in Sketchup. Is this configured somewhere else? That was the location in SketchUp 2018.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\WelcomeDialog]
“x”=dword:000001ca
“y”=dword:000000e8
“ShowOnStartup”=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\Preferences]
“CheckForUpdates”=dword:00000000
“DefaultTemplate16”=“C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\Resources\en-US\Templates\Blank.skp”

On Windows the option to display or not display the Welcome screen is in the PrivatePreferences.json file in User/AppData/Local/SketchUp/SketchUp 2020/SketchUp.

Also in that json file on Mac. It is at
