Offset Tool -- text input disappears

Most functions of Sketchup Make which involve creating a new entity allow text input in the lower right hand window, to precisely define sizes of things. However, when I use offset, as soon I do the second (finishing) click, the data in the text box goes away, and there is no opportunity to set the offset exactly. Is there some sort of secret handshake for this command to prevent that from occurring?

After the second click, even when the numbers disappear, you still can type numbers (as long as you don’t change the tool). You don’t have to click on the Measurement Box to type.
