I select a shape tool. Click one corner and without holding mouse key stretch out some nominal area. While drawing object is still active put in values and hit ENTER.
As soon as I hit enter the object disappears. This is true regardless of which shape it is. Also true regardless of browser. Tested on EDGE, Chrome and Firefox.

Well. After trying all things, I started a new sketch. Then it works. Too wierd.
It depends on the level of zoom and the size that you type.
For example, if you are zoomed out so much that your model window covers a city bloc and you draw a rectangle that is 6 inches by 8 inches you may see a dot if you are lucky or nothing at all.
Do this test:
1 - Draw a square that is 3000 feet by 3000 feet.
2 - Zoom to see all of this square.
3 - In the middle of this large square, draw another square that is 5 feet by 5 ft. You will see a dot.
4 - Draw a square that is 6 inches by 6 inches. You will see nothing.
