New user, MacOS, 8 to 10 hours into a model, close the other

Had 2 models open, closed the one tab, and it crashed. MacOS, every thing up to date.

Is there any chance there is a usable cache of the model on my machine? Won’t take but 4 to 6 hours to reproduce my work, but I would rather not if there is something that is salvageable.

Who new, the Windows rule of save often still applies :frowning:

What happens when you reopen SketchUp is there a window regarding rescued files? Had you ever saved this file once? Do you have autosave or make backup enabled?

As annoying as it is, likely my bad. I did not give the work a name. I just got in a roll, and kept on adding to the model.

Just a silly last ditch effort to save myself some work.

Thank you.

I’ve found out over the years that the time SU is most likely to crash is when I ask it to do a complex operation like subtracting a facetted solid from another or some sort of array with many complex designs. As a consequence, I have disciplined myself to the workflow of SAVE the model before committing to the operation. I. still get the occasional crash but the model is only that one step behind where I wanted to go with it.
