In general you need a “good graphics card” although some posts folks integrated graphics works ok.
You need to post your model and also the lappy you have + make, +model, +Operating system, + RAM, +graphics card if any just encase it is there but you are not using it.

if a fast CPU (recent i5/i7) avail and models no too big you can disable the OpenGL hardware acceleration of the GPU at “Windows > Preferences > OpenGL” without sacrificing to much display output speed.

You say you can’t get “continuous outline”. Before tracing an unknown problem back to any hardware aspects and giving you recommendations, we first need to understand what problem you encounter. It could be simply a question about learning how to achieve a specific modeling task, or it could be an actual problem with the software, the system or hardware.

What do you mean by outline, SketchUp edge entities (are you trying to close edges to form a face), SketchUp’s Outliner dialog, or visual artefacts on the screen? Explain the steps of what you did, what you expected to happen and what happens instead.
