New iPad Pro: Will It Work with SketchUp?

If you have the file on your iPad, you can go to files, click on the file, choose ‘share-icon’, select ‘Open with’ then choose ‘more…’
and finally click on SketchUp Viewer.
Pfff…

I’m using an 8th gen iPad with a cheap Bluetooth mouse and a Zagg keyboard folio case. The scroll wheel does not work and the middle button acts like a left button click. A bit of an inconvenience, but I’m just getting used to using the hotkeys. So far, there aren’t really any other issues.

Continuing the discussion from New iPad Pro: Will It Work with SketchUp?:

Wow you really made something on your iPad Pro?
I use sketchUP on the DAILY (I sell PORCHES I hope you understand, not sure of the English terminology.
I sure as hell like to stay updated as well
Kinda lame for @anon77361920 to not include this software
It’s expensive enough to get one, and with the right tools: a great mouse and keyboard, you could make absolute beauties with it
That is the singe biggest reason I don’t buy a new iPad just yet (I’m dying to have one + keyboard).
It’s because it doesn’t support SketchUP, and I need it for work, like productive work.

But you sir, could be the answer to my prayers!
Could you send me the files? It’s probably easiest trough wetransfer

Thanks in advance

And you’re using SketchUp Free for that?

I may be overstepping a bit, but I feel sure that we could do an exchange, of SketchUp subscriptions for Porches. Not that I have a driving license, but I like the idea of the exchange.

The simple file I made on iPad is not overly exciting. You could remake what I did within a minute of your time. Also, things have not improved on iPad recently. But, there is ongoing work to make things be better.

I can’t tell you how long improving things will take.

I think you might find there is an s missing from your driving expectations, perhaps Snoopy’s flying style might be more appropriate.

Good point. A porch would be nice too, and better MPG.

So now that we are a year and 6 months on from the previous comments, does anyone have any further info on the compatibility of SU with the latest iPad Pro? I am trying to decide if I still need my MacBook Pro for drawing when I’m out on the road or will the iPad pro do the job?

I do most of my work on the desktop, but I want to use the iPad for client meetings and working whilst traveling. I plan to use the apple pencil and/or wireless mouse Thank you
