I need help with my 3D model. It seems ok from the start, but now as i zoom in, the model seems to be “exploded” or “see-through”.
The model is NOT being destroyed. You’re just seeing clipping. Make sure the Camera is set to Perspective not Parallel Projection. Ensure none of the model is located at a great distance from the origin. If you share the .skp file it would be easier to help you.
I’ve checked, everything you mentioned is ok. My workfile is around 100mb. Cannot upload.
Upload it to DropBox or We Transfer and share the link.
Here is the file.
No, it’s not. There are 8 small edges at a huge distances from the rest of the model. Notice what happens when Zoom Extents is selected when in the Top view.
Here are four of them. Note the coordinates of the corner.
After deleting those edges located at the long distance from the model, Zoom Extents shows this:
Note, you should turn off Length Snapping in Model Units>Info. That can cause problems for you if you leave it enabled.
Al make sure you are using tags correctly. Keep all edges and faces untagged. Only groups and components should be given tags. This is the result of fixing that incorrect tag usage.
There are many excessively large textures and some textures that should just be colors instead. Those texture bloat your needlessly bloat your model without providing any benefit. The little bit of cleanup I did reduced your models size by more than 34%.
So get rid of the stray geometry and that should reduce the clipping. If you don’t need those floor plans on either side of the 3D model, delete them, too.
Just as an aside: beware of over-heavy entourage elements. About half of all the edges and faces in your model are in the mesh seat of this simple bench:
I would strongly recommend using a texture instead for the seat…
I had managed to get rid of the 8 small edges and now my Zoom Extents is just showing my model. And I also turned off Length Snapping. But i do still have clipping in my model.
