My Sketchup is constantly shutting down

There must be a bug. I don’t have any large/heavy items in my previous work. Can someone please help me what to look for? Im new with Sketchup

I looked up your bugsplats, thanks for sending them in.

They seem to be something to do with the system switching which GPU was being used. If you can open SketchUp once, go into Preferences, Graphics, and see what option is selected for the GPU. Try choosing the better GPU, instead of letting the system decide. Close SketchUp and open it again, and check preferences to make sure your change was saved ok.

Hi Colin,

Thanks! I changed the GPU but it shut down again even though it was saved. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks for trying that.

The crash is looking the same. It seems to happen right after Sandbox tools are loaded. I think that extensions are loaded in alphabetical order. Do you have any other extensions loaded? In the alphabet, Scan Essentials might come up after Sandbox.

It could be worth renaming the plugins folder, see if SketchUp at least opens. Go to this folder in File Explorer:

%AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\SketchUp\

Rename Plugins to be something else, and open SketchUp again. Does that open ok?

How did you do it?

Your Os or driver will switch between them based ok. What they think is best.

You may need to do it in your graphics drivers and the windows settings also to make sure
