Hi everyone. I’m Danny. I am in my Masters . I am not an advanced user. But I have to do a complex model. I am trying to complete a model and it is taking so long for one command . I don’t know what to do . I have purged the model. Could someone assist me with this?
Here is the link below.
The plant components hanging down through the floor are one of the problems. Lots of geometry for your graphics card to process.
Replace those with components that are lighter.
Edit the style and turn off Profiles. That will also help your graphics card keep up.
I deleted the hanging plants from the model space and turned off Profiles. The model is very quick to work with.
I also fixed incorrect tag usuage. ALL edges and faces should be untagged.
And I purged unused stuff from your file. This reduced file size by about 64%.
What version of SketchUp are you actually using? Your profile says SketchUp for Schools (web) 2018 but that can’t be correct.
Hi DaveR. Thanks so much. You can save it down to Sketchup 2017. I don’t know how to edit the style. Do you mind explaining.
Thanks
Danny
Fix your profile so the SketchUp version is correct.
You should remove the plants and purge the unused stuff. Good learning experience.
Purge unused in Window>Model Info>Statistics.
Here’s the purged file.

Thanks so much!
Hi DaveR,
I am having a difficulty again after combining the floors. I did not add the vines again. I would be happy for your help. I was trying to rotate the roof and ground level to align with the three floors.
I got it figured out. Thank you
Could you say what was causing the problem?
I had multiple groups and components in a component. I had to figure that out- why it was not taking a command. I had to select the correct group/component
