Hello, my model has 29M edge count and it’s significantly slowing my worktime. I keep on purging my model but nothing is really being reduced. because it’s so slow, I’m not really sure which component or furniture I need to delete for this. I really need help reducing the edge count because it gets so frustrating.
Without seeing it we can only guess.
Most common is plants, beds, drapes etc but just about anything downloaded from the warehouse can be bloated unless you check before using it.
There are at least two extensions, Statistics Probe and CGI Impact Report, that produce lists listing your worst culprits, and their face/edge counts.
I think Goldilocks extension might also work.
This is normal behavoure if there is nothing to purge, everything that is still in your model will be excluded from purging..
you will have to delete things from your model to be able to purge them.
What you really should be doing is inspecting everyting you download from the 3d warehouse or from any other source in a separate instance of SketchUp before impoting it in your model!
Inspect for edge and face count, scale, exorbitant textures, unnecessary detail etc.
Lots of people come here with models that are unresponsive due to bloat. Stay on top of that..
