My Layout File Won't Open

I was updating my Layout file last night when it suddenly went unresponsive and I can’t seem to open it since. I realized that I have two different 3d SU models referenced for this file, which could be the problem? Or myb the 3d components from WH in these models that led to this stressful headache.
I’ve been working on this for about a week and it’s my first time using Layout for 2d documentation, and I can’t lose this work bcs it’s almost due for a client. I left my computer open the whole night because I thought maybe it takes a while to load, but it’s been 8 hours and it still reads “Not Responding”. Can anybody help me solve this?

Here’s the file

The LayOut file is very slow to open. Can’t tell why unless it does open. In the meantime I looked at your two SketchUp files. I admit I was surprised there was little to purge. Some incorrect tag usage, though. And a few excessively large textures which, when reduced to something reasonable the one called LANSEKAP was reduced by 40% and the other was reduced by 60%. I’ll wait a little while to see if the LayOut file eventually opens.

Have you tried opening the backup of the LayOut file?

I did try open the Backup file, but it ended up the same. It prompted the Document Setup window that displays “out of date” and missing references and it is just stuck there.

Also, I have just uploaded the backup file in Dropbox.

That’s farther than I’ve been able to get with your file. Out of date just means the saved version of the file is newer than the embedded one. The missing one without a path is likely to be the problem file because LayOut doesn’t have an embedded copy of the file. Any idea what it might be or where the original reference is?

I imported a hi-res image of a rendered scene onto one of the pages. I was just checking things out to see how it looks like. Could it be that?

Could be that’s the problem.

I haven’t gotten the backup to open yet either.

Maybe @colin would have some tools to open the file.

I left it open for 8 hours and it was still ‘Not Responding’ when I woke up to check it. Myb at this point I should just accept that I won’t have my file back and restart the whole thing?

That might be the best option. Clean up your SketchUp files and start again. Save frequently and maybe try inserting a smaller version of the rendered image.

What is the page size in your document.

You said that you manage to reduce my file size by half, how do you do that?

It was in A3 size.

On the "lAYOUT pROPERTIES file there was a little bit to purge. You can do that in Model Info>Statitistics. In both of them there were some excessively large texture images. I used Material Resizer from the Extension Warehouse to reduce the largest of them. These three and a few more. I expect those came in with components from the 3D Warehouse. There’s no reason especially to have textures over 8000 px wide.

I didn’t dig into the entourage components but very likely there are components that could stand to be simplified.

Okay! Thank you @DaveR appreciate your help.
