I’ve just installed SketchUp 2025 and commenced my first project with the upgrade. Seems like it’s a case of ‘Back to the Future’ with intermittent and unstable modelling tools.
In the previous version I was experiencing this issue which seemed to have been eventually eliminated with updates. The usual modelling tools such as push/pull and the line tool for example start pulsing in and out and fail to operate. These tools return to operation after saving the file, however it is an entirely unproductive process to be saving the file after each and every command. Madness.
As a work-around previously, in Preferences | Graphic Settings | I set multisample anti-aliasing from 4x to 0x and selected ‘use classic graphics engine’. The tools seem to work more consistently but I have to endure a dreadful pixellated model which looks just awful. To say that I’m frustrated is a gross understatement. This issue seems to have been resolved in 2024 but has now returned with a vengeance and it’s driving me crazy.
By the way, I’m using a MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1
It has been suggested that a plugin may be responsible for unstable drawing tools. Either way, can somebody enlighten me why this incredibly annoying glitch is back? Anyone else out there experiencing this issue?
In the meantime I think I’ll return to SketchUp 2024.
Thank you in advance if someone in this community can shed some light on the subject.
