I think I made a crazy heavy model and it’s stuck and I don’t know how to fix it
Unfortunately we can’t help you with just a viewer link to the model. Upload it to DropBox or We Transfer and share the link.
What version of SketchUp are you actually using? Your profile says 2021. Is that right?
Thanks for the reply, I updated to drive link, let me know if it works
Using Version 24.0.595
Please update your forum profile while I look at your model.
Done, thank you
OK, I did my usual cleanup procedure. I fixed incorrect tag usage …
… and then purged unused. Surprisingly only one unused component in the model. I also reduced the size of the excessively large textures in the model. I expect that’s the main cause of your problems. File size is reduced by a little more than 58%.

Thank you so much!
“Surprisingly only one unused component in the model” > I kept cleaning it up so it works
Can I please ask you how you reduced the size of the textures?
I download 1k mostly for enscape. Do I need to make them even smaller myself in photoshop?
I used an extension called Material Resizer which is available from the Extension Warehouse.
Many of the materials were much larger. Probably ones that came with entourage from the 3D Warehouse. Resizing textures in Photoshop is one way. The Material Resizer can be useful for resizing a bunch of them. I would suggest that you import any entoruage components into a separate SketchUp file, clean them up, and then copy them into your project.
Also consider the value of small details that may not be seen. I often see models from interior designers in which there are high resolution materials for wine bottles in wine coolers. The bottles are barely visible in the first place and the labels aren’t visible at all. The bottles don’t need labels let alone high res labels. In your model you might look at things like the kitchen sink. Does the strainer in the bottom of the sink or the overflow drain really need to be detailed like they are? Does the label on the faucet handle add important information? Does the end of the faucet need the kind of detail it has?
If details like those aren’t required to sell the client on your design, they are a liability and not an asset.
check for an extension named “material resizer” in the extension warehouse. it’s free, and you can bulk-resize materials.
edit : too slow
