Model has distorted texture when importing into rendering program

That is nonsense. This work may not be my only source of income but the income I have made from it has come in handy. I strictly freelance so ANY income is welcome.

I’ll say it again, apparently I’ll need to find alternatives to sketchup. I don’t know why you felt the need to remind me that I may have violated the terms of use. I get it. Move along now.

Brittany,

I don’t know how old you may be, but there is an old, tried and true saying that states “sometimes you have to spend money to make money”. While I understand your current financial and career position (we’ve all been there at some point in our lives), if this type of work is something you see yourself doing in the long term, then it would behoove you to look into purchasing an SU license. Trimble’s subscription plans are reasonable, and you do get a lot for what you pay in the subscription. Plus, if you have any difficulties, you have access to Trimble’s learning modules and a ton of helpful advice, both there and even here.

No offense but some of the previous comments about the usage of models in the 3D Warehouse for your commercial (paid) work is valid. While there is a strong argument on both sides, as well as me being one of those who have contributed to the 3D Warehouse, someone making money off my work does bug me, but there is no rule in place that all users of SU must upload their work to the Warehouse, only that once it’s there, its fair game for anyone to use it as they see fit.

Yes, tough times are being felt by everyone, including myself who fortunately still has a job but is forced to work remotely, as well as use my own computer and software, with licenses that I paid for out of my own pocket…again, sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Freelance work can be a lucrative career and if you enjoy it, why not pursue it and look at the many resources you have at your disposal to bring it all into fruition? If you have a good track record of providing services to satisfied clients already, then that makes for a great catalyst to continue.

You didn’t say anything that I didn’t already know. Why do people keep telling me I need to pay for the subscription? I’ve already addressed that statement many times now.

I am sorry. I didn’t mean to add any fuel to the fire. I just thought you could use a little encouragement, that’s all.
