Microsoft 365 Tenant Migration

Our school have been through a Microsoft 365 migration from one tenant to another, joining the trust tenant. We have moved our custom domain from the old tenant to new and have setup all the SSO to allow staff and students to log back in. We are using the same custom domain and the users have the same email addresses but when staff login they are treated as a new user, no saved work in Trimble Cloud has been saved.

We then logged the staff member in with their old account on the old 365 tenant (albeit with their onmicrosoft.com domain as we have moved their custom domain to the new tenant) and they were again treated as a new user with no saved work.

Not having much experience in Trimble Cloud, is there a way to retieve the previously staff saved work?

Many Thanks!

@CaseyG might be able to help you. I pinged him for you..

Thanks for the @ command and sorry for the delay in my reply. If you are using SketchUp for Schools, you are not actually accessing any of our servers for data storage. It is all handled by either Microsoft or Google. Your data should still be accessible via the student’s drive. If you are using a different version of SketchUp and are accessing Trimble Connect, then we may need to move the topic to a different section and call in an expert on the subject.

I’ll go ahead and start reaching out to an expert on Trimble Connect and will let you know what I find out, but in the meantime can you let me know the URL for the version of SketchUp you are using?

Try reaching out to SketchUp support with the specific issue using your account details before and after migration. Also, looking into migration specialists might help. I recently found a great resource at Top Dynamics Partners, which connected me with experts for another Microsoft service issue. They can guide you through more complex solutions, especially if there’s something unique about your trust tenant setup.
