Saving problems Sketchup for Schools

I have used Sketchup desktop before while teaching but I am changing to SkecthUp for Schools with a Microsoft sign in. When I first started practicing in the new platform, the only save location available to me in the Save As, Open or Home window was the Trimble Connect Network. So, I used that. After a few days, the options suddenly changed where I now have a OneDrive tile but no longer have the option to save or open from the Trimble Connect Network. I can now no longer get to the files I created and saved to the Trimble Connect network. IS there a way to get to those files again?
I wonder why this happened and if my students will have a similar experience: starting out with only the Trimble Connect Network saving option for a few days and then suddenly having the option switch to OneDrive.. It would be good if they could set OneDrive as their save option immediately and not wait until SketchUp decides it is an option.

Hi @steveokun, thanks for the post and sorry to hear you are having difficulty with SketchUp. Your profile and where you posted indicates that you are using SketchUp for Schools version of SketchUp. That is the version for k-12 schools. Is that accurate? If so, you are in the right place.

The SketchUp for Schools version does not actually have access to Trimble Connect as handling of student data is done exclusively by the student’s cloud drive associated with the account. Student data is safer that way. Students will therefor be unable to save or load from Trimble Connect.

Now that all of that is out of the way, If you still have a Trimble ID you can still access your files, but you will need to do so via an app besides SketchUp for Schools and so will any students. You can see if they show up on the web app for hobby use as that is free and easy to access via the link below:

Anyway, your students should be all set when they access the SketchUp for Schools app and if you need additional assistance accessing your files, let me know and I can try and help you out.
