I am new to sketchup and would like to quickly draw up a 2d house plan and get it printed. I have played around enough to do basic things and can use many of the tools required. Could someone tell me exactly where to begin? A flowchart of the steps would be ideal. I have made drawings and tried to scale them to 1/4" = 1’ so that they would fit correctly on ArchD, but am not having much success when I export them to either pdf, dxf, dwg, or jpg. I assume that I don’t know what I’m doing (at least not well enough!) Thanks in advance!

The easiest thing to do would be to use LayOut. You can very quickly and simply set up your viewport to the required scale on the required paper size and export a PDF from it. According to your profile, you are using SketchUp Pro so you have LayOut at your fingertips. Create a scene of the plan view (making sure you have the camera set to Parallel Projection) and then send it to LayOut. Choose the paper size and then set the scale of the viewport in the SketchUp inspector window in LO.
