Lost all colors in my project. Can't get them back

Hi. First time logging into the community. Frustrating development. I was hoping to present a proposed kitchen/dining room remodel idea to my wife through the Meta Quest viewer later today. I was trying to hide the axis lines and everything went monoichrome grey in the model. I can’t get any color back. Also, I was unable to figure out how to get rid of the axis lines.

I used to use the free version but recently “upgraded” to the paid version. I’m less than ecstatic about it.

Here’s the model (first time sharing something)

Welcome and please fill in your graphics card in your profile, it helps.

Switch to the face style “shaded with texture”

You shared a 3D model to the viewer, not the model, the *.skp itself.

And you can switch off the axes under “view”..

That’s where I used to see that toggle. I appear to no longer have it.

Have you downloaded and installed the pro version or are you using the web version?

That will come..
Don’t forget that the interface of the desktop version is quite different from the web version.
You’ll have to get used to it, just like with any new software.

I’m presented with limited options for sharing when I select it. I copied the link and I enabled anyone with the link to view the model.

You can save the file and then drag the saved skp into your next response.

Also try to work with saving scenes when working with your model: differen face styles etc. that you would want to return to instantly. They would also appear in the shared model to view. But the file itself for now would be better,

I was mistaken. I have “Go,” not desktop. I’m working on getting info about my graphics card, but haven’t come up with the answer yet. I got a sketchup notification that I’m “using an integrated graphics card.” I may just be at the limits of what my computer can do.

Please adjust your forum profile to reflect that..

Possibly, because intergrated graphics cards have never been reccomended for SkechUp..

I can’t save it to my device. It will only save to Trimble connect. I can’t drag and drop the file from Trimble connect. I’m about to go back to pencil and paper. I expect this level of frustration from the free version. I shouldn’t have to pay for the privelege of being this frustrated.

Download. Don’t save. You save in trimble connect, but in the menus you can download a skp file

Also, going back to your issue, on your right, check the style panel.
Or top left, in the search tool, look for « shaded with materials » (or whatever it is in english)

Shaded with textures brought it back to where I was. Thanks for that.

I still want to hide the axis lines. Can’t find that toggle anywhere.

That’s why a correct profile is so important. Less confusion.

@wickeddork, don’t panic. The web based version is also good to work with.
Does you device have a dedicated graphics card besides the integrated one?

It’s in style/model settings/view.
But faster is to use the top search tool.

Also, when you download 2d images of your project, it hides the axis lines automatically.

Therefore, no need to hide them to export png/jpg

The only reason to hide them is if you want to show the model live in 3d

Only two of the three axes hides when I toggle that switch. Red axis line remains, but it turns orange. Graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro P520. Not great, but better than nothing. I think I’m just at the limits of my hardware.

The orange one is true north, that also has a toggle.
