We use sketchup for schools at our school. Most students and employees can log in here without any problems. We have one employee that can not logon. When logging in, we choose to log in with the Google account, but this login process will then end up in a loop. Google profile has been cleaned up, we tried incognito mode and different browsers, but no luck. See attachment for the video of the problem.
We are having the same problem here at our School.

Hi @Kstroosma and @AaronatGISA. Thanks for the posts. I just pinged our server with our test account and from what I can see, everything is working as intended on our end. If you both are experiencing the same issue as shown in the video posted, it could be a number of different problems and we will have to work together to solve it.
The “Are you in the right place?” message usually indicates one of three potential issues. Specifically, it indicates that either the firewall is blocking you on our end or that the deployment of the app was not successful for that domain.
We can easily rule out the firewall issue by manually adding you to our database and for that, all I need from you is your domain and verification you are a k-12 school or equivalent. Just stating that you are via a post is good enough from a legal standpoint as long as it is true. If possible, a link to your website is helpful but not technically required.
The second option for troubleshooting is a bit more complicated and that is to make sure that the deployment was successful. I’ll link two videos at the end of this paragraph that outline the steps to take to deploy the app. One for Google and one for Microsoft.
The third option is that there is a permission issue on an account level. That can be resolved by following the steps listed below.
First, make sure that third party cookies have been allowed. This enables the use of preferences and some of the other customizable features within SketchUp for Schools.
Second, in Google’s privacy settings, under the “Additional permissions” tab, make sure that Third-party sign-in has been enabled. Without this you will be unable to use the Google or Microsoft sign-in options provided by the app.
Finally, within the Privacy and Security section of the Google settings, check that you don’t have anything toggled on that might prevent a complete login. This could include On-device site data and other site settings.
If none of that clears up the issue we may need to dig a bit deeper so please let me know if any of the steps I outlined help or not.
I have followed your “How to deploy Sketchup for G Suite users”, step by step and verified the settings under Privacy and Security as described above. I will provide screenshots of the student laptop settings:
Thanks for the posts @AaronatGISA. I’ll go ahead and ping @Tori_SU and see if she has any idea what the cause could be. It may take a while for her to reply though as she is stuck in a few morning meetings at the moment.
Hi CaseyG,
Look likes it has been resolved, this employee was in the wrong location in Google where Sketchup for School had not been applied.
I asked the employees to test.
Hi Aaron, in the screenshots you’ve shared it looks like you’re students are currently blocking both popups and redirects as well as third party cookies. Both of those need to be allowed in order to complete the login process. Are you able to update those settings and then let us know if you see a change?
I followed the video that was provided to me on how to setup for popups and redirects, and also cookies. You will notice that edu.sketchup.com is bypassed on these settings.
I am also having the same problem

Hi everyone. It looks like there have been a number of posts from a number of different people in the thread since I last saw it. I’ll do my best to address everyone in a single post so just look for your username for the part that is most relevant to you.
First up is @Kstroosma. Thanks for getting back to me. Please let me know the results of your test when you have a few minutes. I am eager to see if it helped or not.
Next is @AaronatGISA. It looks like Tori has taken a look at your screenshots and has made a suggestion although I do see that you have SketchUp listed as allowed for popups and that cookies are enabled. DId you also check the settings outlined in this step:
In Google’s privacy settings, under the “Additional permissions” tab, make sure that Third-party sign-in has been enabled. Without this you will be unable to use the Google or Microsoft sign-in options provided by the app.
As for you @jklipsch263, I just finished adding you to the database of approved domains so you should be all set to deploy the app if you have not already done so. Just make sure not to skip any steps as that can cause issues later on.
I hope that answers everything but if I missed anything please feel free to let me know. Hopefully everyone is able to get up and running!
Thank you so much! It is now working.
Aaron
