Login loop for one user, the teacher

The class teacher is getting a login loop with using the log in with google option. We have two domains, one for students and one for staff, but all other users from each domain seem to fine. The user has tried from a mac computer and a pc laptop. We cleared his cookies and site data from chrome, but that has not helped. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am experiencing the same problem. I have been struggling with it for three days and would really appreciate some assistance. Thanks.

We are still looking for help with this problem. The teacher is not able to run their class without access to sketchup for schools.

Hi, sorry for the delay in my reply. I am happy to look into the issue. Are you using Google Classroom or Microsoft as a back end for your school?

Hello all, I’m sorry that this seems to be an ongoing issue for you. Generally if the login error is limited to one or two users on a certain domain it indicates that there is likely something specific that has been altered in their account settings. The most common settings that we recommend taking a look at are as follows:

  1. That popups and redirects have been allowed for the edu.sketchup.com address. This is necessary in order to complete the login flow, as sign in with Google includes a number of different popup windows. Make sure that your account doesn’t have them blocked.

  2. Third party cookies have been allowed. This enables the use of preferences and some of the other customizable features within SketchUp for Schools.

  3. In Google’s privacy settings, under the “Additional permissions” tab, make sure that Third-party sign-in has been enabled. Without this you will be unable to use the Google or Microsoft sign-in options provided by the app.

  4. Within the Privacy and Security section of the Google settings, check that you don’t have anything toggled on that might prevent a complete login. This could include On-device site data and other site settings.

I hope this helps, and please let us know if you continue to experience access issues.

I checked in with the user, and after the sign-in giving him issues for a couple weeks (we have not made any changes to his devices since I originally posted this message) it is now working for him. I don’t think we will get to the root of the problem, but this help request can be considered closed.
