I just program one of my buttons on my SpaceNavigator with a new ‘Radial Menus’ 
Will see how that works.

Just been over to sketchucation but unfortunately, cannot open the file as I’m on an older version. I weren’t aware of this bug/problem until now. To be fair I probably have experienced it without really noticing and made it work by moving camera around. I don’t really understand it, but it doesn’t seem to have impacted me too much.
I wouldn’t call it a bug as it does seem that not everyone is experiencing that blind spot on screen. So it may be related to different things other than SketchUp. Graphics card / driver / OpenGl-support? I know that on my laptop the area is quite significant.
I never noticed it until the question was raised about Su missing an axis inference in some ocasions.
If I needed the axis I just used the desired arrow key.
