Linen texture on top of photoshop gradient?

I have a custom gradient wallpaper in the design I am working on. I have placed it as a texture generally throughout, but it looks a little flat when I rendered. The actual wallpaper would have the gradient printed on a linen-like textured paper.

Is there a way to add a texture to a gradient or take my jpeg gradient file and place it on a bump map that may mimic a linen texture?

Related, I have to have this wallpaper wrap an archway, so I need to figure out how to have it wash up the curve of the arch to the midway point on both sides. How could I do that?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks

It will be easier for you to apply the texture if you use Fredo ThruPaint. You only apply it to half of the inner area of the arch.

Regarding the bump, you either add it beforehand in a 2D graphics editing software, or during rendering, adding a bump texture to the existing diffuse one.

Thank you - I will check out that extension! I was able to add the texture to my jpeg file and its looking much better now. high five

You can also use the color by altitude tool on the fredo tools extension instead of creating gradients with other softwares.

Can you show me where I can download the fredo thrupaint please? When I go to the extension warehouse, it directs me to this “listing page” but its not clear how I can download the extension? This looks like a chat room for it. What am I missing please?

Fredo’s extensions can be downloaded from Sketchucation.

Start by installing the Sketchucation ExtensionStore. Use it to install LibFredo6 and ThruPaint. You’ll need the Sketchucation ExtensionStore for license management.

Before I recommended an extension, I should have shown you how to use the native tools, so here you go

For now, stick to learning the basics of SketchUp at Campus - learn.sketchup.com.
