Lightbeans Glitching

I have just updated to 2025 from 2023 and the lightbeans extension has started glitching.

When I download a texture it shows up normally in my materials palette and then switches to a flat color after ~2 seconds. I have tried downloading multiple different textures and this bug has happened to all of them.

I am working in the correct scale, I have tried turning shaded with textures off and on, I have tried closing the program and reopening, I have tried turning my computer on and off. So far nothing has changed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the new engine or the classic one ? Check preferences/graphics

My guess is your su runs on the old engine, that’s why the cubes revert to a flat image. Because you need the new engine to use the new PBR materials

I tried turning on the new graphics but textures still reverted. Anything else it might be?

Did you restart sketchup after turning the new engine on ?

After restarting, was it still marked on ? Or back to classic ? Could be that your mac is too old for the new engine

I restarted my sketchup and the new engine was on, the regular sketchup textures changed but the downloaded kept reverting.

Lightbeans used to work fine and its just today that the bug started, on the old version (2023) and the one I updated to.

It’s working fine for me in SketchUp 2026.

Why did you only just update to 2025 instead of 2026?

My computer (office/work) can’t update to the recommended MacOS for 2026.

when you double click on one of the materials you’ve downloaded, do you see the roughness / metalics / other maps active ?

Yes they look active but they are grayed out and unclickable.

I’ve noticed that the materials shown on the materials palette doesn’t seem to change until I try to select it, but still no clue as to why it changes.

I expect this can be attributed to your Radeon graphics card not completely supporting the new graphics engine.

I’m not having any difficulty with textures from Lightbeans on my computer.
