Layout viewport is blank after updating

The text is blue, which typically means it’s clickable. Click on it.
It refers to thread response #13, in which I asked for a couple of things to determine what the issue is.

If you’re crashing, see above for the LayOut forum link titled “LO 2025 - still crashing with buffer overrun error” thread #17 which gives you the workaround on how to work around this silent crash that only occurs on Windows LayOut 2025. (Details available upon request)

I’m having the same issue on a mac.

Any chance of downloading the previous build so at least I can get some work done?

Send me a crash #, and downloads are… LMGTFY… https://help.sketchup.com/en/downloading-older-versions

@rkleins - @steven3 fixed his issue (so far) by uninstalling / reinstalling.

Case: 10824796

and I already found the download links for sketchup 2024.

what I want is the previous build of sketchup 2025, which is not on that download page. I have projects that were built in 2025 that I now can’t use, and trying to open them in 2024 breaks every single dimention I’ve placed in 2025. Because yes, I’ve tried.

update, someone from ProSupport sent me a download link and I am up and running again.

Hi.

Try restarting SketchUp Layout and then relinking the model (File/Document Setup/References. Mark the model and press Relink).

After updating to 2025 the program is very unstable and it is very annoying.

I had the same problem, views not displaying correctly, warning triangles, constant crashing, and all the styles showing in layout with big black question marks.

Looking at my apps I saw that I had sketchup 2024 installed alongside 2025 (somehow).

Uninstalling sketchup 2024 (but not touching sketchup 2025 or layout 2025 (latest versions) seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for this thread - I was getting very annoyed with rendering issues.

Can confirm that uninstalling Sketchup 2024 has resolved the viewport rendering issues within 2025.
