what I want is the previous build of sketchup 2025, which is not on that download page. I have projects that were built in 2025 that I now can’t use, and trying to open them in 2024 breaks every single dimention I’ve placed in 2025. Because yes, I’ve tried.

Try restarting SketchUp Layout and then relinking the model (File/Document Setup/References. Mark the model and press Relink).
After updating to 2025 the program is very unstable and it is very annoying.
I had the same problem, views not displaying correctly, warning triangles, constant crashing, and all the styles showing in layout with big black question marks.
Looking at my apps I saw that I had sketchup 2024 installed alongside 2025 (somehow).
Uninstalling sketchup 2024 (but not touching sketchup 2025 or layout 2025 (latest versions) seems to have fixed the problem.

Can confirm that uninstalling Sketchup 2024 has resolved the viewport rendering issues within 2025.
Try deselect from Layout-preference-performance “enable experimental graphic engine”. It worked for me.
this happened to me too after changing ambient occlusion distance and intensity to a larger value. turns out decreasing back the values of ambient occlusion distance and intensity fixed the blank model. took me a while to figure this was the problem, thats how i ended up looking for the solution here.

I keep on having the same problem, inconstantly (only on 2 layouts files (projects) out of 10 different SU files (projects), and sometimes on small or on big files). Today, I got this after updating my SU file and the only thing modified since the last update just 10’ before (and that worked properly) was the position of a door and the modification of a wall (out of a 350Mo file)
I’ve tried every solutions mentionned above (I have no SU2024 still installed, have alr deselect the “experimental graphic engine”, get back to the “old graphic card” of sketchup…)…
Any clue of how to resolve this?

THIS WORKED!!! SOLVED FOR ME
I’ve been having this issue for a while. All vector rendered views kept going blank, and the hybrid views were just left outlined. Then the styles icons showcased the question marks, which I didn’t realise was happening until i found this forum. These whiteouts were mostly unpredictable as it would seem to whiteout randomly, but more consistently with previewing more denser SketchUp files.
I tried rebooting the software, My 2025 version was up to date, relinking the files, deleting all previous versions of layout on my device, disabled the experimental graphics engine, but none worked. My temporary solution was to open the file in a past layout version, updating the reference which brought all the rendered views back. Saved and reopened the same file again in 2025 layout and would turn ambient occlusion back on praying that it didn’t whiteout on me.
But just this morning my 2023 layout had completely locked me out for some reason and came across this forum. Turns out the soloution is: if you get a whiteout, 1) Save and close the document. 2) Turn off ambient occlusion. 3) Update link reference. 4) Turn ambient occlusion back on . Not sure how this would effect the styles but this has been working for me
