The synchronization with the style applied in the SketchUp scene is lost while working in Layout.
Everything is getting white.
I have to restart Windows and relink the layout to the SketchUp file, and still, it works for a few adjustments, and then it’s lost again, and again, and again.
Is there anything I can do to make it work as it’s supposed to?
Layout is a huge problem. Yes often crashes but my biggest problem is blank viewports of SKP scenes. I have a six page home building plan going and changing the Sketchup model, then updating the scenes within Layout, all or most of the viewports go white, or occasionally just have bizarre patters instead of the scene. Re-linking the SKP file, no help. Uninstalled and re-installed Layout, did not help. I had to go back to an older saved version and make manual changes. I need to submit site review plans to the county. No way I want to start from scratch, it’s too complicated with dimensions and overlays etc etc. For an expensive paid program this is just infuriating. Writing 2025 July 10. v2025 desktop.
If there is a way to use an older version of v2025 would someone please just post the link HERE IN THE FORUM. Thank you.
I think someone proposed that the the viewport needed to either have the scene rechosen or the scene’s style rechosen (as if it lost the property setting during relinking.)
I think we have two separate problems here, but let’s see: @ArtInvent, let’s see if this thread workaround fixes your problem? Layout Viewport Refreshing Crashes Still Occurring - #7 by ArtInvent
I can’t repro it on Win or Mac, but perhaps my test models aren’t big enough, or with a lot of style files.
@glaroche_edvance, private message me with anything that might help us reproduce this issue. And see @DanRathbun 's suggestions show anything, and also try not updating models from a blank page per the above thread.

That other thread suggested to open a blank page and update the linked SKP model using Document Setup - References. This did work on this particular file. This is a 6 page architecture dwg of a home design.
Thankfully the crashing has not occurred recently. I believe it was occurring when I tried updating the reference model. So the crashing and viewport blanking seemed to be happening during the same operation . . .
Even though I can’t reproduce the crash, I filed a bug and we’ll see if there’s something about a blank template page that could cause this.
