I have checked out the video marked as the solution, and have implemented the things I remember from it way back when the solution was posted, but I will be checking it out again to make sure I’m set up right. But I am just flabbergasted…
I have to say, I’m pretty discouraged by Layout’s performance…
I have a set of plans running in Xara designer pro - nested groups of texts, vectors, rasters, and even a png with live perspective-warping effects. It navigates silky smooth.
I also have the file open in Sketchup, over 40,000 groups to say the least (not all visible, but it’s not noticeably different even when they are). It navigates silky smooth.
Then I have Layout open with two pages using a default template title block, having two jpgs- one on each page. The whole plan was done in Xara, exported as a 300DPI jpg, inserted into Layout, and scaled to fit. There’s nothing on each page but a default title block and 1 (one) JPG.
It navigates like a ferret with no legs.
You’ll notice when I zoom in, the Layout navigation system is dropping to like 1 or 2 frames per second and is catching up to how many times I scrolled with the mouse wheel. Super not cool.
