Layout lost "Undo" & "Redo"

That depends on when you bought it, so there is no universal answer.
Yes, you have to pay, maybe you all ready did. Anyone who bought a SketchUp classic license after 6 February 2019 would have been sent a 2020 license.
If you bought subscription, the expire date comes in play, it has to be active for you to work.

Go to the LICENSE MANAGER. Fill the information requested to find out the expiration date of your ability to upgrade with out cost. If you kept up the maintenance and support you are able to upgrade without cost. If you did not keep up to date, the info on the page should indicate the charge to upgrade. At this point it may be cheaper to get a subscription. Then you should be able to get the 2021 version also. ( if one is released)
