Layout '24 Render Models in Document/On Page does not seem to work properly with Fills

Hello,

It seems that LO '24 has a bug when trying to Render Models in Document and Render Models On Page with styles that include fills. Render Image seems to work fine.

This is what happens when Rendering Doc/Page

This is what happens when I Render Image.

I’m using the latest SU/LO v24.0.553 64-bit

On SU, I’m using the following graphic settings:

On LO, I’m using these settings:

Is anyone else having this problem with styles that use Fills?

To summarize, rendering and individual image, the fill comes out as it should.
Rendering all images on a Page or the Entire Document randomly may or may not apply the Fill.

This is forcing me to have to render each SU image individually which is slowing me down. Layout/SketchUp Team, Please let me know if you might fix this in an up coming update.

Thank you.

I have a feeling that it is somehow related with the behaviour I described here:

Unfortunately, Sketchup doesn’t seem to be willing to fix that fast, they take their time like nothing happened  the issue is present also in 24.0.553 version

Hi @arek.mlynarczyk,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Both the LayOut and SketchUp teams have been looking into what is going on regarding this issue. I am sorry that I cannot promise when we will be able to fix the problem, but rest assured that we want this to be resolved as quickly as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Adam

Thank you for acknowledging the problem. Hopefully the SU-LO teams figure it out.

Hello Adam,

I just noticed on another project a similar problem, but this time with shadows.

When I render the entire sheet in one go, one of the viewports (rear elevation) applies a different shadow setting. (it looks like it might be applying the shadow setting from the front elevation viewport on the same page)

When I render it individually, it goes back to how it should be.

Hopefully these issues can get resolved soon. It’s nice to be able to update an entire sheet or all pages in one go, rather than one at a time.

Thanks,
Chris

Just noticed the same issue with section lines.

This is what happens when I render all in Document/On Page

This is what happens when I render a single window at a time (the way I need it to be)

This does seem to be only a display issue. When I export to PDF everything looks fine.

Note it makes no difference if I set Documents → Rendering → Display Resolution to Low, Medium or High. The behavior of not rendering properly on Display is consistent.

Is the SketchUp viewport using Raster, Vector or Hybrid rendering?
Are the fills on the same layer as the SketchUp viewports?

These are all Raster View-ports, single layer (no stacking), with styles showing profiles, section line and section fill settings that render correctly one at a time, but randomly and mostly not when I render the entire document or page at once. Luckily the export to PDF still seems to work fine. The problem seems to be an on-screen issue.

Interestingly, I noticed, that when I Render Models On Page, 4/5 will render incorrectly. When I select all the view-port on the page, then Render Image, 1/5 will render incorrectly.

It almost seems related to a limited resource issue, however, I have a fairly strong system with 64 GB of RAM. So I don’t think that would be the case.

Adam from the SU/LO team acknowledged that there is some kind of problem. Hopefully they can figure it out be the next update.
