I’m having some issues with environment shadows in Layout 2025 on PC. When I update the viewport or export, the shadow changes. Then I have to resize the viewport to get the shadow to go back to where it should be (based on SU scene). I can’t get an export with the shadows where they are supposed to be.
Hi nmason, we have a known issue where the shadow location does not update without a re-render of the viewport when using Set Sun Location on the Environment tab. The team is looking into a fix for this but the workaround is to context click on the viewport and select Render Model. - resizing the Viewport will cause a re-render as well that is why you are seeing it fix itself in this case.
Let me know if that is what you are seeing and if it works to Render Model.

While Render Model works temporarily, it will still bounce back to incorrect state when model update/export is done. I’m also still seeing lingering issues after I disable Set Sun Location on all my scenes.
It seems the viewports showing incorrect shadows/shading on update/export all have unique Rotation Angles in the environment settings. So it seems LO is trying to apply the same environment Rotation Angle on all the viewports when model update/export is done, which changes shadows/shading.
it is also entirely random as to what it outputs / exports each time even with not setting change. 4 viewports, random shadow (from set sun location checkbox) output each time an export is done even with no setting changes between exports. Is presented correctly on screen through.
