Keyboard shortcuts for scenes

Is there a way to colour the items listed in the scenes window or tabs and/or also assign a shortcut to desired scenes? I feel this would improve the workflow. Is there a plugin that does this?

Instead of the word “tabs,” do you really mean “tags?” Tags used to called layers. Tags are useful and can be colored (coloured). You can also turn visibility on and off with tags.

no I believe he did mean tabs, for scenes.

all I know is that you can use the page up / page down key to circle through scenes

look at this free extension, it allows the classification of scenes in categories and other operations (but no shortcuts)
