Hi, about scene tabs, I think could be useful:
Minimum requirement: the active tab has a color that is clearly different from the gray that is essentially the same as all the others, so much so that it is difficult to identify the active scene among the others.
Ideal requirement: being able to assign a specific color (or taken from a table with nn predefined colors).
Excellent feature: assigning custom colors to the scene tabs, and being able to group them for better organization (complex professional models require many layer-tags and many scenes)
I already signalled that Scenes Tabs can be improved on Windows computers.
See these two files.
On Mac OS:
On Windows:
On Windows, the active tab sees its text slightly higher that the other tabs and the text bacground is white while others are pale grey. The contrast is not that obvious.
Also, on Mac, the Scenes tabs are centered on the modelling window while on Windows, the Scenes tabs are left aligned.
My opinion is that the Mac OS format should be used on Windows.
Orange on light gray, is not like white on light gray (which on some screens I easily confuse).
However, the substance is another, and -it seems to me- the request has already been made other times by other users. Perhaps, it means that it is something that the user feels the need for.
Frankly, I do not understand the responses in this forum, where instead of expressing an opinion on the merit of the usefulness of the feature, they systematically try to belittle it or claim that something already exists, which in reality does not exist.
Either the observations/requests of the users have the sense to be at least evaluated and taken into consideration, or this forum has the sole purpose of having âsketchupâ indexed in search engines.

Yes, we are AI bots regurgitating the same answers and âyes menâ responses over and over again. SketchUp SEO Google look here!

Beep boop beep.
Whilst the use of colour is useful (I use coloured tabs in Excel), a more pressing need in organising and managing Scenes is the provision of Grouping or Sorting and a persistent Search / Filter field like the one in Outliner. When you have too many tabs to be readable across the top of a 27" screen the colour tab option becomes pointless.
Iâm sorry you feel that way. Please remember that all but a few of the participants in the forum (including me) are ordinary users, not Trimble employees. We speak only for ourselves. Particularly given the international audience here, many of whom are not native speakers of English, it is unfortunately possible that some replies may seem dismissive without really intending to be. Many of the leading participants are compulsive teachers, who will try to show how something can already be done in SketchUp to meet a request. That could come across as dismissive I suppose.
Trimbleâs process for gathering and prioritizing feature requests is opaque to non-employees. All we know from experience is that they tend to take a position of âif itâs already possible to accomplish, it is low priority to bake it into SketchUpâ. We also have learned that UI and UX issues are often decided by higher powers at Trimble who will not allow SketchUp to differ from corporate standards. We have also learned that the amount of effort it seems like a feature would require for development isnât a good indicator of whether the devs will be assigned to do it.
