I was trying to download and install the new SketchUcation Tools update (v5.0) for SketchUp 2025. Before installing, I deleted and uninstalled all older SketchUcation files to make it a clean install.
Now, whenever I install, open, or refresh the plugin, I keep getting the following error:
Extension Errors Report
SketchUp: 25.0.660
OS: Windows 11
Ruby: 3.2.2
Why aren’t you asking your question on the Sketchucation forum?
Did you install SketchUp correctly? That requires right clicking on the download installer and choosing Run as Administrator. Close SketchUp and find the installer in your downloads folder. Right click on it, choose Run as administrator and then select the Repair option. After it completes do a cold reboot of your computer and open SketchUp. Any change in the behavior?
I followed your instructions and ran the installer/repair as Administrator, and I also performed a full cold boot of my PC. Unfortunately, the issue persists, I’m still getting the same extension errors with SketchUcation.

The latest info was very helpful. I have posted more details at SCF regarding a temporary fix while our code is ‘trapped’ and an updated RBZ posted.
FYI: An extension you have loading, by Chuck Vali, I’nstantArchitetcure’, has no version set, this tripped up our code when reading the extension’s data…
Haem,
if I may,
on mac, the toolbar reappears on launch even if you close it. I know it’s a minor thing, not urgent at all, it can wait for future updates. some day, we’ll finally have the same UI and the same bugs…
other than that, I (still) really like the logo / logos. and kudos to a good plugin redesign
The toolbar shows by default after the first install, but thereafter if you have closed it is should stay closed, UNLESS updates are available - in that case the toolbar should show with a red-dot over the ExtensionStore button to remind you. If there are no updates available you should be able to close it, with it only appearing again when an update is available ?
that’s the first time I see an extension behave that way, and I quite like it, especially since it’s not linked to the EW so it’s easy to miss an update.
that is cool, and you’re right, it was the 5.0.1 update. now that I installed it, the toolbar remains hidden.
that’s neat, I wouldn’t want this mechanic on every plugin, but for sketchucation it’s really nead !
The solution was provided by TIG on the SketchUcation forum. I was having issues because the Vali Architects Instant Architects plugin didn’t have a compatible version for some reason. Once I uninstalled it, boom, everything started working!
Now that I updated the SketchUcation store app, it tells me everything I have needs to be updated, even though checking several of them by hand, I see they are current.
It might be that you have changed something else, like your computer or its name ?
If you choose the ‘update all’ option it’s a one off process that ensures you have all of the latest versions recorded against your login details. You should only get prompted for installing updates thereafter, if an extension has been updated compared to what you have installed…
I didn’t pay attention, but it looks like it’s now referencing extensions that I installed with the EW that are also on sketchucation ?
pretty sure most of the ones that had to be updated come from the ew.
(ok I checked). yeah, in my bundle I see plugins like face up or eneroth’s that I installed through the EW.
again, that’s cool, makes it easy to transfer to a new machine / version even if you install from both warehouses.
