Issue with follow-me tool and missing surfaces

Hi, I have a problem with several missing faces using the follow me tool from a side face and a ground path. How do I fix this? Thanks.

This is common when your model is too small. Scale the model up or use the “Dave Method”.

There is a minimum edge length that SketchUp will create. The length is below that the face won’t be created during Follow Me and thus no face. This is not a bug.

What is it you’re modeling and how will you use the model when it is complete?

Thank you, the result is better. As you can see, several surfaces of the component do not match the main support. The support uses more detailed surfaces. The support is for a cosmetic bottle.

You’ve used different numbers of segments for the arc for the long straight section and the end so of course they won’t line up. Use the same number of segments.

Why are you doing the end separate from the long sides. Why not use the same profile and Follow Me all the way around the part?

But exactly how are you using the model? Just as an illustration? For 3D printing? What?

I found another way and you’re right, it was possible to use the long sides. I still had some missing faces but I closed them with the line tool.

I will use the 3D model to make a real 1:1 model for the cosmetic presentation.

What is the way you found.

If you had set things up correctly following the adice you’ve been given there should have been no missing faces to repair.

I used the long sides and the follow me tool directly. To save time, I did not use a component and a larger scale. I repaired the missing surfaces because of this decision.

How much time did you save by repairing the missing faces instead of creating a copy of the component and scaling it up?

Thanks for sharing, I made a support under the main object, so I should have cut first the support to make a component that"s why I did not use this solution.
