Issue importing IFC, update added

Hi, New to Sketchup and the forum.
I am using Sketchup Pro and trying to import an IFC file, I can open the IFC in my old cad software ok but when I try in Sketchup it says its doing something but then the screen just stays blank and nothing is there. I know the original drawing has lots of lines to aid in the drawing of it but even if I delete all these it still wont import.
I assume im doing something completely stupid so any guidance / advise would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to upload a copy of the file not sure if it attached or not.

Quick update, I have had a good play about with it and it looks like the whole screen has zoomed right out so it could all be there but just far far away, if that makes sense, I have used the zoom extents tool but thats what has brought me right our, is there any other way to zoom in?

Cheers for any help

When importing the file, there is an ‘Options’ button with a checkbox to preserve or reset the IFC file coordinates.

If checked, the original IFC coordinates are maintained.
If unchecked, the IFC file is placed at (0,0,0).

I hope this helps!

Hi Thanks for the info, I have tried both checking and unchecking the box and it makes no difference.

Can you share the file? Also, what is the origin of the file? I can investigate what is going on and if we are missing something.

Hi, it wont let me upload the file as its an IFC and it says its an unsupported site, can I do a dropbox link or something?

Check your direct messages, I sent you a message on how to share the file.
After that, we will analyse and post the results.
Thanks.

I added IFC as an allowable file type. See if it attaches now.
